Allan J. Rooney, Psy.D., specializes and limits his practice to neuropsychological assessment of children (from three years old), teenagers and adults through geriatrics.
He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Nova University and his postdoctoral neuropsychology training through the Fielding Institute at New York University School of Medicine. He also completed postdoctoral training in psychoanalysis at the Psychoanalytic Center for Communicative Education and Research (New York). He holds two masters degrees in clinical psychology, an M.S. from Nova University and an M.A. from Southern Connecticut State University. He received his B.A. in psychology from the University of Massachusetts.
Dr. Rooney's experience working with children and adolescents began in 1985 while providing assessment and therapy for intellectually and emotionally handicapped children through the University of Miami School of Medicine/Mailman Center for Child Development. At the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Clinic of Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Dr. Rooney worked with children and taught them behavioral techniques to help them manage their anxiety and depression associated with undergoing medical procedures.
During the late 1980s, Dr. Rooney expanded his background in geriatric psychology while working with holocaust survivors at the Southeast Florida Holocaustic Memorial Center. He further developed his work in adult psychology while on staff at Fairfield Hills Hospital in Connecticut, where he evaluated and treated chronic, mentally ill adult and geriatric patients.
Dr. Rooney provided evaluations and therapy for patients with brain injuries and other neurocognitive conditions while Director of Psychological Services at the Brook Hollow Health Care Center in Wallingford, Connecticut, in the early 1990s. He has been in private practice in Worcester since 1997.
He serves as a consultant to medical/mental health practices and agencies throughout Massachusetts and New England. Asperger's Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorders is an area of particular expertise for Dr. Rooney and one in which he keeps current in latest advances and interventions within the school and home settings.

James C. Reed, Ph.D., ABPP
Dr. James C. Reed is Director of Neuropsychology at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. He has extensive experience in evaluating for learning disabilities, head trauma, stroke, dementia and neurological impairment.
Dr. Reed has served as director of Psychology at Parkwood Hospital and as a neuropsychologist at the New England Medical Center and Southeastern Counseling Associates in New Bedford. He has also taught at Harvard Graduate School of Education and Tufts University School of Medicine, among others. A Fullbright Scholar, Dr. Reed has worked as a consulting editor for several professional journals and has had numerous articles published.
