In the classroom, the Montessori teacher prepares an environment
which allows the children to come into contact with the qualities and
facts of the world as presented through the Montessori materials.

At the Academy, children work at their own pace in a
non-competitive atmosphere and are free to engage in independent
"spontaneous activity" and to experience success.

The Montessori approach takes full advantage of sensitive periods
of learning by providing an attractively and carefully prepared
environment furnished with a series of self-teaching materials to
stimulate each child's curiosity and help her acquire skills.

The staff at the Montessori Academy of Cape Cod has a rich and diverse background. Collectively they have taught in the southern and northeastern United States, Europe, and China.

Our Elementary School
Class is in session 8:30am to 2:30pm, with before and after care programs covering the hours from 7:30am to 5:30pm for the benefit of working parents.

Our Preschool / Kindergarten
The Academy provides two learning sessions from 8:30 to 11:30am and 12:30 to 3:30pm, with lunch time provided fror all-day students, and before and after care covering the hours from 7:30am to 5:30pm for working parents.

Our Admission Policy
The Montessori Academy of Cape Cod has adopted an admissions policy that does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nation or ethnic origin, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status, economic background or disability.

Our Admission Procedure
During your search for a program for your child, we invite you to visit our school and talk with the administration and staff. We welcome your observations and questions. Application for admission forms will be available to you upon request.

The metamorphoses of children, from birth to adulthood, occur through a series of developmental periods. The focus of Montessori education continually changes in scope and manner to meet the child's changing need and interests.

Dr. Maria Montessori, the first woman to graduate from the University of Rome College of Physicians and Surgeons, began her work with children as a physician. In later years, she became an educator and anthropologist.

The great significance and real beauty of our school lies in the children that will go forward and will, by the virtue of who they are, help create a lasting harmony and peace for our world.
