A Balanced Bike Fit is Key to Optimizing Your Cycling Performance

For every rider, this balance can be achieved by finding the optimal saddle height, adjusting the saddle's horizontal position, achieving a proper reach from the saddle to the handlebars, and optimizing handlebar height relative to saddle height. Some factors that can affect these critical adjustments include a rider's body measurements, age, weight, gender, flexibility, riding history, and chronic ailments.
Grace Bicycles uses the Retl 3D motion capture system and bike fit methodology which is the same system adopted by pro teams like Radio Shack and Garmin-Chipotle. Grace Bicycles owner Roy Cervantes is the only Retl fitter in Massachusetts certified by Retl University.
At Grace Bicycles, we offer several levels of bike fit:

Custom IF Steel Crown Jewel
J.M. is a hard-working family man whose main vice is to ride. And ride. And ride. He first came to us with some fit issues on his trusty Klein Quantum, and we worked those issues out. He began saving for his new IF. One day, after the IF crew gave a presentation at our store, J. bought a ticket for a custom frameset that the IF Racing Team was raffling off. He won! Here is the result: A custom Steel Crown Jewel SE.

J.'s first impressions- "...this bike likes to climb. I thought my Klein was stiff when it came to resiting flex from pedal strokes - this bike is better! But there is no stiffness on the ride - very comfortable...I think we've done a remarkable thing here."

Taming Technical Sections - Are you having trouble getting through challenging parts of trails? Ask yourself, 'where am I looking on approach and when I get stuck and stop?' Keep in mind that 99% of the time you will go where you are looking. If you focus on the obstacles you're trying to avoid, you'll probably run right into them. So keeping your eyes up and focused on where you want to go is the best way to get there. If you're not sure what the best line is, learn by following more experienced riders or by asking them.
