Check around with family and friends who have swimming pools. Ask them who their contractor was, and if they would recommend that contractor to others. If you can’t get that kind of recommendation, call around to a few contractors and ask them for references so you can find out how satisfied their customers are. Don’t be shy, ask questions. If they look like they’re a solid choice, check with your state’s Better Business Bureau and see if there are any standing complaints against them, or if they have a solid relationship with their customers. If there’s a local swimming pool contractors association, check in with them as well. Look online for swimming pool contractor reviews. That may seem like a lot of work, but don’t forget that a swimming pool is a big investment. Once you’ve found a few pool contractors who have good, solid references, ask them for cost estimates in writing. Again, take your time and ask questions while talking to a contractor about swimming pool pricing and the swimming pool construction process. We want you to be an informed and satisfied customer.
