Thomson Country Club was founded in the early 1900s in Nahant Massachusetts as a social club for the engineers of General Electric. In 1963, the members looking for more recreational activities decided to relocate to North Reading where the club stands today. Thomson is now a full-service Private Country Club open year round for our members and their guests.
The Club boasts an 18-hole golf course with practice facilities, 3 swimming pools, 4 Clay tennis courts, and a clubhouse that offers several different dining options. In addition to our more formal dining room, there is our Grille Room offering more leisure fare, and a spacious ballroom for private events.
Our golf course is a challenging par 72 known for it’s tight fairways and large tricky greens. The clubhouse continues to undergo continuous improvements including our recently renovated Main Ballroom and Men’s Locker Room.
We welcome guests to visit our site for information regarding memberships, private events and golf outings.
