He is a member of the National Association of Professional Appraisers. He states, "I am most fortunate to be involved in a business where I can combine my promotional and selling skills with my love of antiques. A successful sale results in a very tangible and immediate sense of accomplishment. I derive great pleasure from the satisfaction of both my clients and the buying public."
Dr. Lewis makes frequent presentations to area historical societies and civic groups on the topic of antiques and their values. He also donates his time and services to benefit auctions sponsored by non-profit organizations. He draws on an extensive academic background and professional training including certification in personal property appraisal.
ESTATE AUCTIONS Unlike bankruptcy and foreclosure auctions which are held under a cloud of duress, our well publicized estate auctions create a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere conducive to competitive bidding and buying. This is the most effective and efficient means to liquidate antiques, art, jewelry and collectibles. Through promotion in local and regional newspapers, national antique publications and direct mail flyers, our estate auctions attract buyers from all New England states, New York and beyond.
Following our estate auctions, the estate executor, administrator or conservator receives an exact accounting of all property which was sold including a detailed list with the selling price of each item. This accounting and payment is made 10 days after the property is sold.
APPRAISALS Estate appraisal reports are prepared in accordance with the National Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) established by the Appraisal Foundation. Appraisal reports are submitted in duplicate. When deemed appropriate, detailed videotapes are prepared.
