RELIABLE - PROFESSIONAL - THOROUGH
As a licensed Massachusetts Home Inspector, and a Mechanical Engineer, I have the background, training and experience to conduct a thorough inspection of any home before your closing. I personally perform all inspections. My standards meet or exceed every standard set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and NACHI (National Association of Certified Home Inspectors).
- Massachusetts Licensed Home Inspector, License #593
Vermont and Massachusetts Home Inspections are normally available six days a week, including many holidays and some Sundays. Call me, Neal Gifford, a certified home inspector, at 413-774-2662 for more information or to schedule an inspection.
If it is a condominium inspection, mobile home inspection, single family home inspection or a multi family home inspection, I will spend the time necessary to conduct a careful and through visual inspection of every accessible part of the house. Equally important is my ability to clearly explain problems and issues that are uncovered during the inspection and to promptly provide a complete written report, in an easy to read format. A report filled with hard to understand technical jargon and specialized construction or engineering terms is both frustrating, and almost useless, to the average home buyer.
The primary reason for a home inspection is peace of mind for the home buyer. Having an unbiased, licensed Massachusetts Home Inspector, who is also a Mechanical Engineer, conduct a thorough visual inspection helps to minimize your risk and to cut through the anxiety and emotional issues which surround such a major life purchase.
The best inspection outcome for all parties involved is one which finds NOTHING WRONG. In many cases however, problems which are uncovered during the inspection may result in negotiated price reductions far in excess of the actual cost of the home inspection. Often, the seller is not even aware of many of the problems which have developed over the years.
If the Vermont or Massachusetts home inspection finds problems, it does not necessarily mean you should not buy the house, only that you will know in advance what type of repairs to anticipate. A seller may be willing to make repairs because of significant problems that are discovered during the home inspection. If your budget is tight, or if you do not wish to become involved in future repair work, you may decide that this is not the property for you. Ultimately, the choice is yours.
