Some browsers are able to automatically download add-ons which can be installed to keep the browser up to date and geared up for all the advances of malicious software. Other browsers such as internet explorer have features such as digital signature. This feature looks at the information sent by a website and then verifies with the site to see if the files or documents are really from the publisher stated. This helps identify documents and files which have been tempered with thus detecting the efforts of a hacker way before they have accessed any information.
E-mail can also traffic viruses and other malicious software. It is important that you have software that scans e-mails and if there are any signs of corruption they be treated as spam. This way all your confidential information on your computer will always stay protected from hackers.
