Welcome to Concrete Doorway Cutting Service
The tension in the precast concrete planks along the edge will be carried by steel reinforcing rods near this edge and the stress in these re-rods at any point may be found accurately enough by an equation of moments taken about the center of the front will at the top of footing. Allowing two inches from center of the reinforcing steel to the edge of precast concrete plank is standard practice in the concrete industry. The moment of curing can allow for all forms, spacers and form pins to be removed. Any arm of a crane boom can assist in recovering the used concrete forms used in the construction process.
Generally, five round steel reinforcing rods will be needed. The thickness of the monolithic concrete slab and foundation to be sawed will be determined. This is sufficient to properly provide for these steel reinforcing rods if a spacing of two inches and a diameter of five inches is allowed. At ten feet below the top the coring bend is at least eight feet below the top. The effective depths of the diamond core drill bit at these points are 5 feet and 2 feet respectively. The required values of your drilling machines torque should approximately correspond to other values in the equation. When we consider three of the reinforcing rods to be carried above the concrete column into the adjoining concrete slab we consider strength and durability.
Core drilling is not a science but has some scientific characteristics. These values are greater than those required and the core drill bit may be stopped off as planned. In addition to the inclined and declined core drill stand concrete bars placed near the edge of the concrete saw, horizontal and vertical bars are necessary to tie the vertical and horizontal slabs to the steel reinforced concrete column, and to transfer the stresses. Since concrete is assumed to be incapable of taking tension, these steel rods must be considered to take the shear along the horizontal and vertical edges of the concrete beam. At the top of the footing the shear on round rods are used, the required number in a foot of height is 1.35. These steel reinforcing rods should be placed in pairs, each hooked around the outer horizontal reinforcing bars in order to obtain a satisfactory amount of feet distant from the cut edge. The diagonal steel reinforcing rods at the extremity of the concrete footing will be considered to take the tension for only the first twelve inches or so. For the second foot strip the total tension is 15,020 lb. and two i-in. round rods will be considered sufficient if placed at the center of this strip-namely, Ii ft. from the end of footing. The tension coming from the third foot strip is 12,740 lb. and two (1) inch steel reinforcing round rods will also serve here if placed two inches from the end. Two inch round rods will serve the next or fourth strip, two inch round steel rods the fifth strip, and two inch round rods for the remaining length of 2.92 feet.

Comfort Beyond Compare and Unbelievable Energy Savings
Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) are concrete forms made of rigid foam insulation forms (a system of support assemblies, including mold, hardware, and necessary bracing to hold concrete) into which concrete is poured and house foundations are created. Once the concrete has gained its full strength, the insulated concrete forms are left in place to insulate the wall. Insulated Concrete Forms are becoming more and more popular in regions in which the local building code requires the concrete foundation to be insulated. One of the many benefits is that the homeowner or builder has the ability to finish basement immediately, without adding studs, strapping or nailers because they are built right into ICFs.
Help Save the Planet! You Can Make a Difference!
For years old-fashioned concrete walls were constructed by using a standard concrete form to hold the concrete in place while it cured. The forms were then removed after the concrete was hard. This process involved a lot of manual labor and the end result was walls that were strong but had almost no insulating value. These types of walls left your basement moist and gave it that moldy smell. But all that has changed! With Insulated Concrete Forms the rigid foam insulation performs four valuable functions. It acts as the rigid concrete form, it insulates the concrete foundation wall, it forms a vapor barrier for the wall and also acts as an excellent surface for attaching final finishes such as drywall for the interior and stucco for the exterior. Insulated Concrete Forms are easy to install and stay in place preventing the need to remove or "strip" them when the concrete is cured. You can use Insulated Concrete Forms from the footings of a building all the way up to the roof although in the Northeastern states like Massachusetts they are generally used for just the basement. You end up with a concrete foundation wall that is far is superior in every way compared to foundation walls created by using standard forms. Much stronger walls, magnificent sound barrier and thermal mass advantages, easier to heat and cool and no wood strapping to rot and grow mold are just a handful of the powerful advantages of ICF construction.
Did You Say "R-50" insulating Value? WOW!
Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF's) are changing the foundation of home building and construction. The concept is actually very simple. Insulated Concrete Forms combine a conventional steel reinforced concrete wall with modern rigid foam insulation and does so in a way that is cost effective because Insulated Concrete Forms are labor and material efficient. Rigid foam insulation on the exterior, a reinforced concrete wall and then another layer of rigid foam insulation on the interior is the finished product. The foam becomes a permanent part of the concrete foundation wall thus providing a phenomenal R-50 insulating value. Combine this simple energy saving, environmentally friendly system with the SIPs panel framing system and you will have the most energy efficient home that money can buy. Such energy efficient insulating values will even dramatically improve the performance of any renewable energy system such as solar or wind generated power if you should choose to include these in your construction plans.
