Welcome to The Montessori Childrens House. Founded in 1982 by Linda Blades and Binki De Collibus, the school provides an enriching and loving environment for parents seeking a high quality traditional Montessori experience for their children. MCH is unique in its commitment to a small school setting where parents and teachers connect on a daily basis.
Located in a charming village colonial in Southboro, The Montessori Childrens House serves children from all the surrounding Metro West communities and beyond.
We enroll children ages two years nine months through their kindergarten year. Children attend five days a week, either mornings or afternoons. We honor the Montessori tradition of a single class of mixed ages and abilities where children learn from each other. Each class of approximately twenty children is taught by Linda and Binki. Both staff members have been teaching in the classroom together since the schools beginning. The reliability and stability of experienced staff help to ensure consistency in the classroom and good communication with parents.
The goal of the program is to assist in the development of the whole child, foster a love of learning, foster a positive self esteem, and lead the child toward independence. The classroom reflects more than 25 years of specifically researched and developed materials to complement the regular Montessori materials in the areas of Everyday Living, Sensorial, Math, Language, Geography, Science, Music, Movement, Art, and Art and Music Appreciation. In addition, the school seeks to help children develop a global awareness. Cultural studies are carefully woven through the Montessori curriculum.
