Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week MASSPIRG and HCC Student Clubs & Activities will hold a series of events this week aimed at promoting awareness of hunger and homelessness. “More students are struggling with these issues. We feel a sense of urgency to get our community involved in looking for solutions” said Student Activities Coordinator Liz Golen.
Nine HCC students of color joined 300 students from four-year and community colleges for the Millennium Leadership Conference, held November 5-7 at Clark University in Worcester, MA. Participants spent the day in workshops and discussion groups aimed at cultivating young leaders. For many, it was a life-changing experience.
Addiction affects our families, our communities, and our economy. More than 17 million Americans abuse alcohol or drugs. Four who traveled the long road from addiction to recovery talked to HCC students and staff about the journey, and what life is like today.
