Architectural Insights is a highly innovative professional design firm that serves both public and private sectors throughout New England. Though our primary source of work has historically been western and central Massachusetts, we've been involved in projects ranging geographically from Hartford, Connecticut in the south to Kennebunk, Maine in the north, and as far east as Boston.
Founded on the principle of complete client satisfaction, Architectural Insights' driving commitment is to provide hands-on, personal service to its clients throughout the entire process. This philosophy is reflected in our ability to tailor solutions to the unique needs of each project while respecting economic, environmental, and sociological constraints.
Architectural Insights' design process begins by defining the scope of the project, during which it is incumbent upon the designer to effectively assess the client's needs and desires. During the life of a project, we are in constant communication with the client—from the establishment of goals and objectives, to the development and evaluation of design concepts. Once a final concept that effectively and economically meets the design criteria has been approved, construction gets underway. The end result is a product that delights the client and enriches the environment around it.

Architectural Insights, based in Palmer, Massachusetts, was established in March of 1988 by Lawrence E. Tuttle and Robert S. Haveles as a union of professional development and architectural design services. Since that time, Mr. Tuttle and Mr. Haveles have built Architectural Insights into a strong, diverse, and well-respected practice—based on their combined 40+ years of practical architectural experience, comprehensive project management skills, and strengths in project administration and on-site coordination. In addition, they consistently combine contextual sensitivity and creative approaches to design projects, while complimenting them with traditional methods and innovative products. Both partners also have vast experience in new construction, renovation, historic preservation and building additions.
Architectural Insights has chosen to concentrate its current efforts in local communities in both the public and private sectors, and supports its regional base by using local resources and skilled craftsmen in the provision of appropriate design solutions. The principals have also reinforced their commitment to the area by relocating Architectural Insights' offices into the former Thorndike Street School building, now known as the Depot Village Professional Building, located in downtown Palmer at 3 Converse Street.

Architectural Insights assures all clients of direct continuous contact with the principals heading the project's design team. The accessibility of each of the principals and the resources they bring to a project enables a level of communication which addresses the client's requirements and results in an economical, functional and aesthetically pleasing design solution.
Architectural Insights' responsive attitude towards client needs and professional advancement is exemplified by its provision of computer aided design capabilities and technical facilities management to many of its projects.

Lawrence E. Tuttle, AIA, NCARB Mr. Tuttle received a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Design from Miami University in Ohio, and a Master's Degree in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin. Professionally, he held various design and management positions with four architectural firms, which led to his involvement in several well-regarded published works receiving regional and national attention. He also participated in the design, promotion, and operation of exhibits, trade shows, and special events for the city of Chicago for two years.
Mr. Tuttle is a licensed architect in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Illinois.
Robert S. Haveles, AIA
Mr. Haveles earned an Associate's Degree in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute and a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Design from Miami University. He has a diverse professional background, including work in commercial office and retail space, elderly housing for continuing care, cultural facilities, parking structures, the restoration and preservation of historical structures, and custom residential design. In addition to his professional work, Mr. Haveles serves on numerous town boards and committees, which typifies Architectural Insights' commitment to the community and also provides a more thorough understanding of governing board procedures for municipalities, state and federal agencies.
