The Dance Place is where adults can drop in all year round for a class in jazz, modern, ballet, zumba and ballroom. Our Luigi instructors learned from the master himself and have vast knowledge of its subtleties and style; Ballet instructors gently teach the proper alignment and intricacies of this classic discipline; Jazz teachers mix the best of modern, blues and funk into their choreography for a fresh dance experience. Our non-competitive, nurturing environment makes dancers of any level feel comfortable to express themselves.
The same philosophy goes for our childrens classes. Its about the creative process, the love of movement and artistic expression, while learning the fundamentals of dance in its various forms. Our Joppa Jazz Dance youth companies, Joppa Jr. (grades 4-6), Joppa Two, (grades 7-8), and Joppa Teen, (grades 9-12) have the additional opportunity to perform throughout the year, attend master classes, and mount their own pieces. Auditions for Joppa are held every June.

12 weeks $160.00 for 45 minutes to an hour; $175.00 for over an hour; discount for over 3 classes and sibling/family discounts.

African class is separate $15.00 per class and $120 for ten classes

Creative Dance starting at age 3. We also offer Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Acting, Modern, Ballroom, Pilates, Tap/Jazz, Tap, Luigi Technique Jazz, Modern Jazz, and Jazz/Ballet-- over 60 classes per week for children AND adults. We are the home of Joppa Jazz Dance Company and Exit Dance Theatre. Please call for info regarding both summer and fall classes, and registration at 978-465-1485.
Joppa Dance Company
Founded over twenty years ago, originally as an adult troupe, but now consists of children and teens ranging from 4th to 12th grade, (divided in three levels: Joppa Jr., Joppa II and Joppa Teen).

Exit Dance Theatre was founded in 1987. Exits style is deeply rooted in theater techniques, improvisation and collaboration. One of Exits missions has always been to allow the movement to open up past traditional styles and find new ways to express stories told through dance. The company has danced to the tunes of Danny Harrington, Ronnie Earl, EJ Ouellette, The Gospel Unlimited Choir, and more. Exit performs on the North Shore and in Boston.
