Philosophical Counseling/Consulting

Philosophical Counseling/Consulting I’m a PhD-trained Philosopher who is certified to provide philosophical counseling (a logic-based therapy). I challenge people to attain their next level.

I'm a PhD-trained Philosopher who is certified both by the American Philosophical Practitioners Association and the National Philosophical Counseling Association to provide philosophical counseling (a logic-based therapy). In philosophical counseling, we approach life's difficult questions by implementing the tools of philosophy and turning to the ideas of great philosophers. Philosophical therapy is logical therapy; I help clients identify, repair, and overcome their emotional reasoning. An alternative to the emotion-targeted practices of psychotherapy, philosophical counseling focuses on using our reason to deeply investigate the principles and ideas that shape our thoughts. To do this, we apply critical thinking techniques, analyze the relevant ideas put forth by both Western and Eastern philosophers, and together investigate underlying assumptions and beliefs. My ideal client does not need to have a background in Philosophy in order to benefit from philosophical counseling. My practice focuses on areas where clients may have existential distress, including aging, anxiety, relationship issues, and grief. It is rewarding to be able to help people work through personal issues and challenges by using my philosophical training. I use my skill set to help others flourish and become the best version of themselves. I challenge people to attain their next level. I specialize in issues of ethics, rational decision making, and moral psychology. Additionally, my religiously and ethnically mixed background informs my sensitivity to a wide variety of cultures, lifestyles, and world views.
